National Youth Band 2012

As part of the annual planning process of the Association,
the NMC had recommended that the 2012 National Youth Band
should compete at the FABB Australasian Contest
that was to be held 26 – 29 October 2012.

The Association had received an invitation from the Contest
organisers for the Band to participate and had entered negotiations
with interested parties for funding and travel. This event has a
growing reputation for Bands to compete internationally
with Bands from outside of Australasia also keen to participate.

It was therefore very disappointing for the Association to be advised that due to the unavailability of the Venue, the Festival and Contest
for 2012 has been cancelled.

The BBANZ Executive and NYBB Management will meet shortly
to reconsider its programme for 2012.
